ARNOLD E. BARTELL
Arnold E. Bartell, 61, of Oakfield, a former employee of Mercury Marine, died early this morning at Maple Manor Nursing Home where he was a resident for six months. He had been ill the last three years.
Born March 7, 1912, in the Town of Oakfield, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed and Mary Herman Bartell. He married the former Ann Kreuziger on Oct. 25, 1941, at St. Joseph’s Church, Waupun.
The couple lived in Waupun for a year and a half after their marriage. Mr. Bartell was employed by Libby McNeil Corp., Waupun, until he joined the Army in 1942. He served in the Army until 1945 when he moved to Oakfield.
He was employed for 28 years by Romort Manufacturing Co. and worked seven years at Mercury Marine. He served as custodian of Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield, for the last 20 years. He was a member of St. James Church, Oakfield.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Richard and Daniel, both at home; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis Zimmerman of Route 2, Brandon; a granddaughter; his parents of Oakfield; and a brother, Lawrence of Menomonee Falls.
Funeral services for Mr. Bartell will be held at 10:3 a.m. Monday at St. James Church, Oakfield, the Rev. Richard Fechhelm officiating. Burial will be in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until the time of services Monday at Kohl’s Co. Funeral Home, Oakfield. The casket will remain closed. Memorials may be directed to Avoca Cemetery.
