ARNOLD RIES
Arnold J. Ries, 92, of 539 Milwaukee St., Lomira, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 1996, at Hope Nursing Home in Lomira.
He was born on Aug. 5, 1903, in Lomira, a son of John and Catherine Beck Ries. On Sept. 1, 1931, he married Anna Heinecke at St. Theresa Church in Theresa. She died on Dec. 21, 1967. He then married Alma Bonack on Aug. 27, 1969, at St. Mary’s Church in Mayville.
Mr. Ries was a member of St. Mary’s Church. He farmed and then was involved in stock and milk transportation with Ries Trucking Co. He owned White Way Restaurant in Lomira and ran Midwest Livestock Café.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Kenneth and his special friend Marie Lorrigan of Campbellsport; stepchildren, Delores and Richard Meyer of Mayville, Richard and Judy Bonack of Waupun, and Duane Bonack and his special friend Tammy Hildebrandt of Glidden; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church I Mayville, with the Rev. Stephen J. Stradinger officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Kietzer Funeral Home of Lomira is assisting the family.
