ARNOLD MALTERER

Arnold M. Malterer, 70, of W8299 Breakneck Road, Oakfield, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1992, at his home.

He was born April 16, 1922, in LeRoy, the son of Michael and Mary Haller Malterer.

On Sept. 14, 1946, he married Carrole Farrington at St. Andrews Catholic Church in LeRoy.

After marriage Mr. Malterer farmed in the Oakfield area.  He later was engaged in the milk hauling business.  He also was employed as a forklift operator at Mercury marine for 16 years.  He was a member of the Oakfield VFW Post 8092 and Sturgeons for Tomorrow.

Mr. Malterer was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include:  two sons, Raymond “bud” and his wife Mary Nell of Waupun, and Michael and his wife Jacqueline of Oakfield; one daughter, Mary Kahaut and her husband Joseph of Oakfield; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Gudex of Chilton, Hilda Munroe of Kentucky and Margaret Zingler of Fond du Lac; and special friend Charlotte Bunker of Fond du Lac.

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 26, 1990, his parents and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kohls Funeral Home in Oakfield.  The Rev. Don Zerkel will officiate.  Burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Oakfield VFW Post 8092.

Friends may call 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  A prayer service will be held 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial is being established.
