MRS. RIES, BROWNSVILLE, DIES AT 57

Mrs. Michael D. Ries, 57, Brownsville, died at her home at 1:30 p.m. Friday of a heart attack.

The former Beatrice Frei was born Nov. 30, 1911, in Fairwater, the daughter of Louis W. and Ida Eitzman Frei. She was married to Dr. Michael Ries on July 11, 1935, and they had resided in Brownsville since their marriage.

A member of the Christian Mothers of the Nativity of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Lomira, she was also a member of the Mayville Chapter of the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include her widower; three sons, Stanley M. of Brownsville, Thomas J. of Milwaukee and Michael L. at the University of Wisconsin; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine B. Keller of Muscatine, Iowa, and Miss Paul Jean Ries of Madison; her mother, Mrs. Ida Frei of Waupun; four sisters, Mrs. Everett Schmauhl of Appleton, Mrs. Robert Middlestead of West Allis, Mrs. Philip Nelsen of Whitewater and Mrs. Henry Redeker of Menomonee Falls; two brothers, Edward Frei of Fairwater and Melvin Frei of Markesan; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1952.

Funeral services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Kietzer Funeral Home in Lomira and at 11 a.m. at the Nativity of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira with the Rev. Ernest O. Dreher officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Sunday until the time of services on Monday.
