DONALD NORBERT FRANKE

Donald Norbert Franke, 68, of W4197 Ledge Road, Mayville, Wis., town of LeRoy, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1938, in LeRoy, Wis., the son of Alphonse and Erna Gassner Franke.

On April 30, 1960, he was married to Erma Sperger at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy, Wis.

Donald was a 1956 graduate of Mayville High School. Together with Erma, he farmed in the town of LeRoy. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield, Wis., a member of Dodge County Farm Bureau, a director of the Town of Leroy Farm Bureau, a supporter of the Mayville and Oakfield FFA., and a veteran of the National Guard, serving during the Berlin Crisis. He loved gardening, hunting and hand-dipped chocolates.

Survivors include his wife, Erma; his children, Scott (Laura) Franke of Fond du La, Wis. Mary (Jerry) Cooper of Richland Center, Wis., and Kay (Peter) Mittelstadt of Lomira, Wis.; his sisters, Bernice (Eugene) Hanke of Brownsville, Wis., and Cathy (Arnold) Walters of LeRoy, Wis.; his grandchildren, Ashley, Ryley, Madison, Emily and Ethan; his step-grandchildren, Michael (Gina) Zuehlke and Joe Zuehlke; and his step-great-grandchildren, Collin and Deszion. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Myron; and one daughter, Cynthia.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield, Wis. The Rev. Michael Peterson will officiate, and entombment will be at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac, Wis.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 3 until 7 p.mm. on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, Wis., and also from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at the church.

Donald was an organ and tissue donor.
