Obituary

GORDON A. GASSNER

Gordon A. Gassner, 61, of N2245 Highway 45, Campbellsport, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born Nov. 20, 1936, in the Town of LeRoy, the son of Alois and Agnes Scheberl Gassner.

On April 12, 1958, he married Phyllis Redman at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy.

Mr. Gassner served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.  He worked as an auto mechanic for many years and recently was the owner-operator of the Parkway Restaurant in Campbellsport until June of this year.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira, and the American Legion Bintzler-Waehler Post 347.  He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis; his mother, Agnes Del Ponte of Lomira; three sons, Greg and his special friend Laurie Bierl of Campbellsport, Allen and his special friend Barb Dirkse of Sheboygan, and Dean and his wife Rachelle of Campbellsport; two daughters, Sheryl Casper and her husband Neal of Lomira, and Teri Galligan and her husband Herb of Campbellsport; 12 grandsons; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Mae Belle Luedtke and Judy Gassner, both of Lomira.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Roy; and one granddaughter, Tricia.

Services:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira, following a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at Twohig Funeral Home in Campbellsport.  The Rev. Ken Casper will officiate.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation:  From 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorials are appreciated to Hospice Hope.
