Helen was born March 20, 1925 in Mayville, a daughter of Leo and Rose (Elsinger) Stuckmeyer. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and was employed at Brandt's of Watertown until her marriage. On April 28, 1945, she was united in marriage to Leo Bonack at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in LeRoy. Leo and Helen worked several farms before settling on a farm in the town of Theresa, Wisconsin. Helen was also employed for several years at California Canners and Growers, and volunteered as a teacher's assistant at various schools.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lomira, a former Elder Peer Counselor of Beaver Dam and a member of the Kekoskee Fire Fighters Auxiliary. Helen enjoyed gardening and working on her yard all through her life. She loved her grandchildren tremendously and loved playing with them.
