JONATHAN HOWARD “JON” WOOD
Jonathan Howard “Jon” Wood, 34, of 224 Wapiti Lane, Elk Mound, Wis., and formerly of Bruce, Wisc., and Oakfield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001.
He was born on June 8, 1966, in Long Beach, Calif., a son of James and Janet Kelley Wood.
He married Deidra A. Conger at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield, on Dec. 1, 1990.
Jon graduated from Bruce High School in 1984. He was formerly employed by Jacobson’s Feed Mill in Brownsville and Wisconsin Kenworth and was a former partner in J.& J. Enterprise. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Elk Mound.
Survivors include one daughter, Whitney Ann Wood of Elk Mound; one brother, James Wood Jr. of Elk Mound; two sisters, Juanita Bays of Helena, Mont., and Jesellen (Rick) Andres of Conrath; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Mae Wood of Plymouth, Wis.; maternal grandmother, Wilma Kelley of Bruce, paternal aunts and uncles Malonie (Raymond) Cato, Dianne L. Bates, Susan Wood and Gary, Blanche (Steve) Bloedow, Harry Wood, Robert Wood and Ernie (Joyce) Wood; maternal aunts and uncles, Kathy (Terry) Zimmerman, Nancy Kelley, Becky (Kurt) Nutt, Dawn(Tony) Shimko, Michael Kelley, Tom (Peggy) Kelley, Don (Sue) Kelley, Bob (Cheryl) Kelley, Ron Kelley and Jim (Cherie) Kelley; brothers-in-law, Dave Conger, Dean (Nancy) Conger, Dale (Barb) Conger and Denis (Judy) Conger; sisters-in-law, Deanna (Pete) Haen and Darilyn (Bob) Conger; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, J. O. Kelley and Howard S. Wood; a cousin, Renee Estabrook; a brother-in-law, Daniel Conger; and his father; and mother-in-law, Alvin and Margaret Conger.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan., 13, at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield with Father Guy Gurath officiating. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 11 at the Bruce Federated Church, with he Rev. Linda Shearer officiating. Burial will be at the Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
Visitation: Visitation will be held at Bruce Federated Church from 4:30 p.m. today until the time of services,, and at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the services.
