LEONA M. SCHRAUFNAGEL

Leona M. Schraufnagel, 76, of 438 Ashford Ave., Lomira, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on March 7, 1926, in Beaver Dam, to Roman and Leona (nee Czoschke) Bauer.

On Sept. 7, 1946, she married Carl J. Schraufnagel in LeRoy, Wis.

Leona farmed with her husband in the LeRoy area until 1973.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira, and a member of Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her children, Carl (Nancy) Schraufnagel of Juneau, Wis., and Fred (Alyce) Schraufnagel of Lomira; brothers, and sisters, Romona (Courtland Sr.) Sperger of Waupun, and Raymond (Elaine) Bauer of Fond du Lac; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, in 1982; and a son, Joseph, in 1991.

Services:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 p.m. today, Aug. 6, 2002, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira.  The Rev. Fr. Charles Wester will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lomira.

Visitation:  Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Lomira, or St. Andrew’s, LeRoy.

Koepsell Funeral home in Mayville is serving the family.
