FUNERAL RITE PLANNED FOR WAR VETERAN

LOUIS J. KELLY, 73, DIES IN MILWAUKEE; BYRON SERVICES

Funeral services for Louis J. Kelly, 73, of 3338 W. Highland Blvd., Milwaukee, who died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital at Wood, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Church, Byron, Rev. Joseph Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

A veteran of World War I, Mr. Kelly was a member of American Legion Post 1 of Milwaukee, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2874, Gesu Church, Milwaukee and Holy Name Society and Usher Society of the church.

Born June 14, 1893, at Byron, he was the son of John and Margaret Whitty Kelly. He married Regina Sullivan at St. Tomas Aquinas Church in Milwaukee Sept. 4, 1948. Mrs. Kelly survives along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother.

The body is in sate at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Louis J. Kelly, who died Tuesday, were held at 10 a.m. today from the Uecker-Wit Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. from St. John’s Church, Byron, Rev. Joseph Mueller officiating.

Seated in the sanctuary were the Rev. Walter Morgan, Campbellsport and Rev. J. Guerin, Milwaukee.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Sullivan, Raymond Sullivan, Frank Sullivan and David Sullivan.Trier-Puddy Post 75 of the American Legion conducted graveside services with color bearers, Joseph Karst and Floyd Jones; color guards, William Greene and Arthur Mossong; firing detail, Andrew Johnson, Edson Stubbs, Everett Culver, John Pitas, T.E. Sullivan, Thomas Corcoran, Henry Rucks, Donald Kinney, Henry Schultz, Thomas O’Hearn, and Leo Marcoe; color sergeant, Victor Broome; bugler, Robert Samuel and commander, L.E. McEnroe.
