Obituary

Obituary of Michael J. Donovan, The Oshkosh Northwestern, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 25 May 1915, Tues, Page 3:

DONOVAN – The funeral of Michael J. Donovan of Vandyne was held Monday with services at the Church of the Presentation at North Fond du Lac. Mr. Donovan was one of the oldest residents of that vicinity, being 88 years of age at the time of his death.

Besides the wife [3rd wife Margaret Fuller, widow of John Coughlin], there are surviving eight sons and daughters, John Donovan of Vandyne [from Michael's 1st marriage to Mary Donovan, widow of Edward Carey], Mrs. John McArdle [Ellen, from Michael's 1st marriage to Mary Donovan, widow of Edward Carey] of Eldorado, Mrs. W.A. Fisher [Catherine, from Michael's 2nd marriage to Catherine McMonagle] of this city, M.J. Donovan of Iron Mountain, Mich. [Michael John, Jr., from Michael's 3rd marriage to Margaret Fuller, widow of John Coughlin], Mrs. Rudolph Beck [Anna, from Michael's 3rd marriage to Margaret Fuller, widow of John Coughlin] of Los Angeles, Cal., Thomas Donovan of Vandyne [from Michael's 3rd marriage to Margaret Fuller, widow of John Coughlin], and James Donovan [from Michael's 3rd marriage to Margaret Fuller, widow of John Coughlin] and Miss Jane Donovan [from Michael's 3rd marriage to Margaret Fuller, widow of John Coughlin], both of this city.

The funeral yesterday was very largely attended, showing the high esteem in which Mr. Donovan was held by all who knew him. The pallbearers were John, M.J., Thomas and James Donovan, John Coughlin [3rd wife's son from her previous marriage] and W.A. Fisher. Floral tributes were many and beautiful.

The remains were laid to rest in Byron cemetery. There were many people present from away for the services, including the relatives from this city. Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Donovan returned to Iron Mountain today after attending the funeral.
