MICHAEL THELEN Michael M. Thelen, 88, of N11665 Highway 175, Brownsville, died Sunday, June 8, 1997, at Hope Nursing Home in Lomira.
He was born July 12, 1908, in Ashford, a son of Martin and Gertrude Grief Thelen. On Jan. 27, 1932, he married Bernardine B. Weyer at St. Martin’s Church in Ashford. He and his wife marked their 65th wedding anniversary this year.
Mr. Thelen attended St. Martin’s in Ashford until 1936 and then I Brownsville until retiring. While at St. Martin’s he was a choir member and violinist. He was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira and served as secretary from 1960 to 1970.
Survivors include two sons, Bernard of Ashippun and Melvin and his wife Gerda of Brownsville; one daughter, Mary Ann Klink and her husband Eugene of Lomira; grandchildren, Geralyn Rice and her husband Craig of Versailles, KY., Margo Lipetri and her husband James of Hannibal, Mo., Chris Thelen of Brownsville, and Marita Eggers and her husband David of Fond du La; four great-grandchildren, Clayton and Jacob Rice and Michael and Matthew Lepetri.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira. The Rev. Vincent B. Hollubowicz will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.
Visitation: From 9:30 to 10:a45 a.m. Wednesday at the church where a rosary service will be held at 10:45 a.m.
