MSGR. JOHN J. CLARK

The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John J. Clark, 76, a former resident of Lomira, died at 4 a.m. today at West Allis Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

He attended Lomira schools and St. Francis Seminary, St. Francis.  He was ordained to the priesthood Oct. 28, 1920, and said his first Mass at St. Mar’s Church, Lomira, on Nov. 1, 1920.

Msgr. Clark served as curate at St. Roses and St. Thomas Aquinas Parishes in Milwaukee and also was rector of Pio Nono College for several years.

He served pastorates at St. Louis Church in Caledonia, and St. Galls and St. Roses Churches in Milwaukee before retiring in September of 1967.  He celebrated his golden jubilee as a priest on Oct. 26, 1970.

Born in the Town of Lomira on Feb. 8, 1895, he was a son of James and Catherine Lynch Clark.  Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Raymond Kelley of Fond du Lac.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Brett Funeral Home, Milwaukee, and at St. Roses Church, at the corner of Michigan and 30th Streets, Milwaukee.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lomira.
