ROSE M. PIXLEY
Rose M. Pixley, 71, of 219 W. Waupun St., Oakfield, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Grancare Nursing Center.
She was born June 30, 1927, in the Town of Oakfield, a daughter of Harvey J. and Edna Noll Thill. On June 2, 1956, she married Forrest D. Pixley at St. Patrick Church. He preceded her in death April 3, 1997.
Mrs. Pixley was a member of St. James Church, Oakfield, and Oakfield VFW Auxiliary Post No. 8092. She enjoyed going to bingo with her friends, crocheting and playing her organ.
Mrs. Pixley and her husband took in and cared for 16 foster children.
Survivors include one son, David (Julie) Pixley of Fond du Lac; two daughters, Darlene (Gary) Lucero of Pueblo, Colo., and Carol (Mike) Zahn of Lomira; eight grandchildren, Shawn (Mary) Thoe of Lakin Heath Air Force Base, England, Andrew Thoe and Amy (Rocky) Birch, both of Pueblo, Rebecca Fink of Mayville, Angela Fink of Lomira, Edward Flury of Oakfield and Dustin and Douglas Pixley, both of Fond du Lac; eight great-grandchildren, Samantha, Max, Jennifer, Bradley, Dillon, Abigail, Alysa and Hanna; four brothers, Bob (Lorraine) Thill and Eugene (Barb) Thill, both of Fond du Lac, Raymond (Mary Jane) Thill of Lamartine and Larry of Oregon; three sisters, Ruth Rausch and Dorothy Franke, both of Oakfield, and Judy (Ray) Ballwanz of Oshkosh.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; one grandson, Joseph Weiss; one brother, William Thill; one brother-in-law, Oscar Franke.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday from Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield. The Rev. Donald Zerkel will officiate. Burial will be at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
