Shirley M. Riese Shirley Mae (Sook) Riese, 71, of Oakfield, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on July 29, 1938, in Spencer, WI to Lester and Christina (Bauer) Sook. She attended Goodrich High School and was employed as a clerk at Woolworth in Fond du Lac for three years. When Shirley was a teenager she met the love of her life, Arnold D. Riese. The wed at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac on September 22, 1956. Their marriage was blessed with six children. The couple made their home in the Fond du Lac area and later moved to Oakfield where they have lived for the last 42 years. Shirley spent much of her life supporting the business she shared with her husband, Riese Tree Service, LLC. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother who will be remembered warmly for her ever-present devotion to her family and compassion for those around her. Shirley was most happy hosting parties and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed a love for the Irish singer, Daniel O'Donnell. Shirley is survived by her husband, Arnold of Oakfield, six children, Deb Riese of North Fond du Lac, Kathy Godina of Lomira, Tim Riese of Mesa, AZ, Tom (Stevie) Riese of Town of Blackwolf, Sandy (Steve) Cowles of Oakfield, and Mary Riese of Lomira, six grandchildren, Stormi Riese, Corey (Jess) Godina, Ashley Godina, Kellie Godina, Kyle Plzak, Kimmie Plzak; sister-in-law, Ione Sook of Fond du Lac, brother-in-law, Vernon Riese of Oakfield, nieces, nephews, and her constant companion, her toy poodle, Trixie. Shirley was anxiously awaiting her first great-grandchild to be born in January of 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lovina (Norbert) Elsinger, four brothers, Sylvester (Mary Jane) Sook, Earl (Esther) Sook, Arnie (Eva) Sook, Ralph Sook, and her father and mother-in-law, Leon (Josephine) Riese, and a son-in-law, Richard Godina.

Visitation for Shirley M. Riese will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, from 3 to 5 pm at St. James Church, 101 N. Main Street, Oakfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5 pm at the church on Wednesday. The Rev. Michael Petersen will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
