Thomas C. Dineen, 82, of Oakfield, passed away at the St. Francis Home on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. He was born in the Town of Buena Vista (Portage Co.) on September 19, 1927, a son of Charles P. and Katherine (O'Connor) Dineen.

On February 6, 1954 he married Helen Frances Hoffmann in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Appleton.

He was a graduate of Stevens Point High School and for a while attended UW Stevens Point.

Tom was employed for forty years with General Telephone as a supervisor. He was a member of the Sons of Zebedee Catholic Church in Oakfield. He served in the United States Army in the 1950's.

Tom greatly enjoyed camping and traveling with his family.

He is survived by nine children, Ann (Tom) Rosenthal of Wausau, Susan (Stephen Barone) of Madison, Louise (Jeljko) Medved of Salida CO, Bill (Tina) Dineen of Oakfield, Robert (Sue) Dineen of Fond du Lac, Charles (Cindy) Dineen of Brownsville, Paul Dineen of Oakfield, John (Kim) Dineen of Brownsville and Thomas M. Dineen of Oakfield; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (Jack) Thompson of Stevens Point and Eileen Dineen of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife Helen in 1996; three brothers, John, Bernard and Charles Dineen.

Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 7:30 pm at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac. There is no further visitation.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm in Sons of Zebedee-St. James Church in Oakfield. The Rev. Michael Peterson will preside. Burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be directed to the family.
