Obituary
Thomas E. Condon, 73, a former Janesville resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, 2009, at the Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA, where he has resided for many years. He was born May 31, 1935, in Janesville, son of the late James F. & Agatha (Theisen) Condon. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of Janesville High School, Class of 1953. He then attended college in California, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Engineering. Tom worked for Martin-Marionette in Denver, then worked for NASA in Florida and New Orleans, and also, at Lockheed Martin in St. Louis. He then went to work for the U.S. Department of the Army, working at Ft. Eustis, VA, as an Aerospace Engineer in the Aviation Applied Technology Directorate at the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command Center for over 30 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, loved flying, and enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball. Tom will be remembered by all as having a wonderful sense of humor, and was a wonderful brother and uncle to his family! He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word! His faith in God shone through every day. He is survived by his sister, Mary M. Boston of Milton; his sister-in-law, Jacqueline A. Condon of Janesville; his nieces and nephews.; his six great-nieces and nephews; and by many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James J. Condon Sr.; and his brother-in-law, Everett E. Boston.
Funeral services with a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 315 Cherry St., with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Burial will be Saturday afternoon in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lomira, WI. Whitcomb-Lynch Funeral Home.
