November is a time of year when we remember and pray for the deceased. Did you know there is even a shrine where you can send a card to the deceased? The church teaches that we must pray to help the souls in purgatory enter heaven. There are many ways to honor the souls in purgatory but the most simple way is to remember them and pray for them each day. To learn more about purgatory, praying for the souls of the faithfully departed, or where to send a card, please visit these websites:

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus,

in union with the masses said throughout the world today,

for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere,

for sinners in the universal church,

those in my own home and within my family.

Amen

~Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
