ALMA BONACK RIES

Alma Bonack Ries, 90, formerly of Lomira, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Mayville Nursing and Rehab Center, Mayville.

She was born Sept. 9, 1910, in Waterloo, the daughter of Bernard and Amelia Leschinger Hoard. On July 8, 1930, she married Edgar Bonack in LeRoy. After his death she married Arnold Ries on Aug. 27, 1969, in Mayville.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lomira, and a member of Ladies Sodality at St. Mary's in Mayville. She worked at Rilling-Endlich in Mayville, farmed with her husband, Edgar, and ran the café at Midwest Livestock, Lomira, for 30 years with her husband, Arnold.

She loved her flowers and to sing songs in German.

She is survived by three children, Dolores (Rich) Mayer of Mayville, Dick (Judy) Bonack of Waupun and Dewey (Tammie) Bonack of Glidden; one stepson, Ken Ries and his special friend, Marie Lorrigan of Lakewood; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marie Lapp of Waukesha and Loretta.

Preceding her in death were both husbands and six brothers and sisters.

Services: Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at St. May's Catholic Church, Lomira. The Rev. Vincent Holubowicz will officiate. Burial will be at St. Andrews Cemetery, LeRoy.

Visitation: Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, until the time of service. Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira, is serving the family.
