ALVIN CONGER

Funeral services for Alvin J. Conger, 62, of 134 Waupun St., Oakfield, will be held Saturday at 10:15 a.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield.

The Rev. Guy Gurath will officiate.  Entombment will follow in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Conger died Thursday, Aug. 30, 1969, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born Nov. 12, 1926, in the Town of Osceola, a son of Ernest and Laverne Phipps Conger.  On May 24, 1947, he married Margaret Ryan at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield.

Mr. Conger was employed as a field supervisor for Friday Canning Corporation for the past 40 years.  He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus of Fond du Lac, and V.F.W. Post 8092 of Oakfield.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Doreen Conger of Fond du Lac, Deanna Haen and her husband Peter of Oakfield, and Deidra and Darilyn, at home; four sons, Dennis and his wife Judith of Fond du Lac, David of Waupun, Dean and his wife Nancy, and Dale and his wife Barbara, both of Oakfield; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Conger of Fond du Lac; 19 grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Frankie Conger of Fond du Lac; and a step grandmother, Alma Phipps and her husband Walter of Greenbush.

His parents and one son, Daniel preceded him in death.
