Obituary
ALVIN STERR
Alvin N. Sterr, 77, of Route 1, Brownsville, died Sunday afternoon at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born June 18, 1899, in the Town of LeRoy, a son of the late Michael and Anna Liegl Sterr. On Feb. 18, 1919, he married Amelia Schabel at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, LeRoy.
Mr. Sterr was a retired farmer and a former employee of the Town of Lomira.
Survivors include three sons, Roman of Brownsville, Ertl of Lomira and Milton of Knowles; two daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Laverne) Giese of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Sylvester (Lucille) Kuen of Brownsville; 30 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Beano of Theresa, Leo of Loyal, Ind., Arnold and Leonard both of Milwaukee; and two sisters, Mrs. Elsa Justman of Iron Ridge and Mrs. Anne Derge of Juneau. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 15, 1972, and by a sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira, and at 1:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lomira. The Rev. John Goebel will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Sterr will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
