Barbara Elizabeth Conger, 84
Barbara Elizabeth Conger died September 23, 2023. She was born June 2, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mrs. Conger grew up in Green Lake, Wisconsin and attended Green Lake High School. She married Wayne Sobotta November 8, 1958 and together they purchased Sobotta's Happy Daze in 1977. Prior to that she was a homemaker and worked at Shiff Shoes, Edith's Bridal, Autoglass Specialists, Production Credit Assoc., and the Fond du Lac Public Library.
She married Daniel A. Conger in May 21, 1987. In 1985 she opened Inn Oakfield. After her retirement, she was a snowbird in Okeechobee, Florida and Elco, Wisconsin. Her special friend, Don Parker, and she traveled the roads in a Class A. She met her special friend, Joe Gagliano, when she began living full time in Okeechobee. A resident of Okeechobee, Florida for 20 years, she was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus in Buckhead Ridge, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan, and she loved the Florida warmth and sunshine.
Mrs. Conger was preceded in death by her sons, Glenn E. Sobotta and Neil T. Sobotta; her husbands, Wayne M. Sobotta and Dan Conger; parents, Arlo and Ann Pitcher; in-laws; sister, Marilyn Farrell; brother, Edward Pitcher; and special friend, Don Parker.
She is survived by her son, Marc W. Sobotta (Terry); daughter, Valerie A. Sobotta (Rob Smith); stepdaughter, Kim Loomans (Mitch); grandchildren, Joshua Rumbuc (Jenni), Jessica (Efrain) Antonio, Nick Rumbuc, Wayne Sobotta (Bobbie), Ashley Sobotta, James Sobotta, and Holli Rilling (Tony); great grandchildren, Natalie Rumbuc, Briella Rumbuc, Amaya Antonio, Alivia Sobotta, Miguel Antonio, Alex Rumbuc, KC Sobotta, and Marcus Sobotta; brothers, Tom Pitcher (Judy) and Ken Pitcher (Pat); and special friend, Joe Gagliano.
The family will host celebration of life on October 14, 2023 at Sons of Zebedee-Oakfield, 101 N Main ST, Oakfield. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until Catholic Mass at 12 p.m. Packer attire is encouraged.
