BERNICE STUMPF

Bernice E. Stumpf, 74, of Sabetha, Kan., died Thursday, April 10, 1997 at Fountain Villa Care Home in Sabetha.

She was born on May 8, 1922, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Ralph and Anna Martel Stumpf.  She was a longtime resident of the Topeka/Sabetha area.

Miss Stumpf served in the Women’s Air Corps as a clerk during World War II.   She was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School where she enjoyed participating in forensics.

Survivors include one brother, James Stumpf and his wife Elaine of Onalaska, and nieces and nephews.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Services:  Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Byron.

Visitation:  From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Kohls Community Funeral Home in Waupun.
