Bernice Schraufnagel, 90, of Lomira, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center, Lomira.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1913, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of George and Sadie Katen Dolan.
On June 1, 1938, she married Alfred J. Schraufnagel at St. John’s Catholic Church, Byron.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. She and her husband farmed in the South Byron area for 20 years. She also owned and operated Bernice’s Beauty Shop in South Byron.
Survivors include three sons, Tom (Karen) of Plover, Dan (Mary) of Franklin and George (Linda) of Combined Locks; one daughter, Mary Simon of Lomira; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Georg Dolan of Milwaukee; and one sister Cele Vrabee of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; an infant daughter, Roseann; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna; one sister, Margaret; and one brother, Gerald.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira, with the Rev. Charles Wester officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation: From 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Father Joseph Safiejko Education Fund.
