MISS SIMON DIES AT 27 AFTER FALL
Funeral services for Miss Celine Simon, 27, who died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after undergoing surgery Sunday at a Topeka, Kan., hospital for head injuries received in a fall from a bicycle, will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Lomira.
The Rev. Ernst O. Dreher will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Miss Simon attended St. Kilian Parochial School and was graduate from Kewaskum High School in 1961 when she was the class valedictorian. She was the daughter of Andrew and Anna Straub Simon, Lomira.
She was awarded a scholarship to Alverno College in Milwaukee where she majored in home economics. Upon graduating from Kansas State University at Manhattan, Kan., she was awarded her master’s degree and taught at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
This past summer she was in Rochester, N.Y., with the French Co. doing research work. At the end of this school year she would have been awarded her doctor’s degree.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Simon.
