Obituary

Delores E. Gassner, age 92, of Tigerton passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.

The former Delores Emila Krueger was born on October 9, 1923 in the Town of Theresa, Dodge County, to the late Raymond and Adela (Macheel) Krueger. She was united in marriage on April 27, 1946 to Ermin L. Gassner at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church parsonage, LeRoy, WI. Delores worked for a short time at the Canning Factory in Lomira, Wisconsin. After marriage, the couple dairy farmed for some years in the Lomira area. Delores’ husband preceded her in death on July 24, 1970 and then she started working at Mayville Metal on the punch and drill press. She was employed for fourteen years and retired in 1984. After retiring, she moved up north to be closer to her youngest daughter, Danette. Delores lived in rural Tigerton with her daughter until 2000 when she settled in an apartment in town. She was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lomira, and was a current member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Delores kept busy volunteering at the Tigerton Senior Center. She helped out with the meal program and also served as a Board Member. Her other interests included cooking, baking, knitting, and crocheting. Delores always enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She will be remembered most as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother.

Survivors include her four children, Dianne Lange of Horicon, Eugene (Nanette) Gassner of Mayville, Doreen (Andrew) Brown of Fond du Lac, and Danette (Jerry) Ahlers of Caroline. There are 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. There is one sister, LaValle Christian of Theresa, one brother, Raymond (Audrey) Krueger of Kewaskum, and one sister-in-law, MaryAnn Hamberger of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Delores is preceded in death by her husband, Ermin, two brothers, Vilas and Willard, a sister-in-law, Patricia Krueger, and a brother-in-law, Donald Christian.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 30th at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton, with Rev. Matthew Uttenreither officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton.

A second visitation and service will be held on Saturday at the funeral home in Lomira with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Lomira.
