DONALD RYAN
Funeral services for Donald J. Ryan, 63, of 262 E. Ninth St., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kohls Funeral Home, Oakfield, and at 11 a.m. at St James Catholic Church, Oakfield. He died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1981, at St. Agnes Hospital.
The Rev. Richard Fechhelm will officiate, and burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Oct.21, 1918, at Plymouth, Iowa, the son of the late William and Grace DeVoy Ryan. He married Sylvia Geisthardt on April 26, 1941, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Byron.
Mr. Ryan was employed by Mammouth Springs Canning Co. in Oakfield until 1972, and then by Romart Mfg. Co. in Oakfield where he was presently employed.
He was a member of St. James’s Church in Oakfield, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and was a former Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department member.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Joel of Fond du Lac and John of Oakfield, 10 grandchildren; six brothers, Russell and DuWayne both of Oakfield, James of Fond du Lac, Gordon of Brown Deer, William of Plymouth and Bernard of Liberal, Kan.; and two sisters, Mrs. Madonna Schaefer and Mrs. Alvin (Margaret ) Conger both of Oakfield. Two brothers preceded him in death.
