Dorrie Ford

A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Dolores A. "Dorrie" Ford, 40, of W7161 Highway 151, will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Zacherl Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield. The Rev. Donald Zerkel and the Rev. Peter Drenzek will officiate. Cremation will take place, with inurnment at St. Peter's Church Cemetery in St. Peter.
Visitation is at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday where a parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Ford died Tuesday, March 22, 1994, in Fond du Lac. She was born July 7, 1953, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Leander and Margaret Kraus Buechel. On June 7, 1975, she married James E. Ford at St Peter's Catholic Church, St. Peter. Mrs. Ford was a 1971 graduate of Goodrich High School. She was employed at Kohl's Department Store for several years and later as an office assistant at Valley Restaurants of Fond du Lac.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield and served as a lay minister. She was a member of St. James Altar Society, a member and former secretary of the Oakfield Parent-Teacher Organization, and several Fond du Lac support groups. She served as a 4-H leader for the Busy Oaks Clover Buds and was recently appointed to the Oakfield School Board.
Mrs. Ford currently was attending Moraine Park Technical College as a part-time student. She also was a member of The Reporter's reader focus group, which helps provide feedback for the newspaper's content.
Survivors include her former husband, James of Plover; one son, David, attending University of Wisconsin Center-Fond du Lac while living at home; two daughters, Cindy and Tracy Ford, both at home; her parents of St. Peter; five sisters, Mary Pauly and her husband Gary of St. Cloud, Ginny Ditter and her husband Paul of Jericho, Theresa Wagner and her husand Warren of Plymouth, Lori Diederichs and her husband Dan of Johnsburg, and Irene Petrie and her husband John of St. Peter; three brothers, John Buechel and his wife Barb, Joe Buechel and his wife Mary, and Fran Buechel and his wife Kay, of St Peter; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Don Charapata of Lomira was a dear friend.
Preceding her in death were one son, Scott on Oct. 27, 1993; and her grandparents.
A memorial has been established and is encouraged for her children.
