EDWARD C. PRIESGEN JR
Edward C. Priesgen Jr., 83, of 702 Milwaukee St., Lomira, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at St. Agnes Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1923, in St. Augustine, Washington County, the son of Edward Sr. and Irene Meyer Priesgen.
On Oct. 8, 1947, he was married to Louise M. Schmitt at Holy Hill.
Edward farmed in the town of Erin and retired from Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lomira, and a member of the Eagle’s Club of Fond du Lac. Edward was a school crossing guard for St. Mary’s in Lomira. He also enjoyed antique farm equipment, farm auctions and helping on the children’s farms.
Survivors include his children, joseph (Doris) Priesgen of Lomira, Charles (Marie) Priesgn of Hartford, Irene (Gene) Justman of Oakfield, Cecelia (Allen) Achterberg of North Fond du Lac, Edward (Gabriele) Priesgen III of Hartford, Mary (Dale) Christian of Lomira, Peter (Julie) Priesgen of Fond du Lac, Alex (Laurel) Priesgen of Twin Lake and Susan (Jim) Schumacher of North Fond du Lac; his brothers, Jerry (Mary Ann) Priesgen of Allenton, LeRoy (Mary) Priesgen of Theresa and Gene (Nellie) Priesgen of Hartford; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1969; one daughter, Veronica; one son, Jacob; and one sister, Dottie.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 207, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mayville. The Rev. John Schmitz will officiate, and burial will be at St. Kilian’s Cemetery, Hartford.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mayville.
Memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Hospice Hope.
