ELAINE C. STEGER
Elaine C. Steger (nee Rettler) passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at her residence at the age of 64 years.
She was born in Hartford on October 7, 1945, to Leo and Asella (nee Baler) Rettler.
Elaine attended Hartford High School for three years and graduated from West Bend High School in 1963.
On May 22, 1965, she married Paul J. Steger.
Elaine worked at Amity Leather Products for 19 years and then worked for Sysco Foods in Jackson as a receptionist for 10 years. She retired in 2006.
Elaine is survived by her four children, Barb (Ryan) Liebert of Lomira, Bonnie (Jim) Narance of Fond du Lac, Brenda (Hugo) Rodriguez of Lomira and Paul J. Steger Jr (Tracy) of Sheboygan; her eight grandchildren; Katie (fiancé Matt Burns) Liebert, Mike Liebert, Olivia and Samantha Narance, Tony and Maria Rodrieguez, Amya and Hunter Steger; her sister, Jeanette (Jerry) Downing of Reedsburg; her mother-in-law, Olive Steger (nee Weber) of Theresa; sisters-in-law, Margie (Bobby) Giese of Mayville and Mary Ann (Tom) Hechimovich of Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul J. Steger Sr. in 2004; her parents Leo and Asella Rettler; her sister, Bernice Rettler; her father-in-law, Leonard Steger; and her brother-in-law; Ray Steger.
Elaine dearly loved her kids and grandkids and went to many of their sports activities. She also loved to play bingo. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lomira, with Fr. Budka officiating. Interment will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation: Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 22, at the church from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Philllip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
