ELLEN ANN “GRANNIE” STAGE BEITZ

Ellen Ann “Grannie” Stage Beitz, 84, of 262 S. Main St., Oakfield, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at St. Agnes Hospital.

She was born on June 4, 1919, in Spencer Iowa, a daughter of Ames and Nancy Hiner Stage.

On Jan. 29, 1941, she married Elden W. Beitz in Lomira.  He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1996.

Mrs. Beitz was a member of Sons of Zebedee Parish -St. James Church in Oakfield.  She formerly was employed at Wright Brothers Paper Company in Fond du Lac, and later at Oakfield Enterprises until her retirement in 1983.  Ellen loved to take rides, watch game shows and cook and feed people.

Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Gerner and granddaughter, Kathy Gerner, both of Oakfield, a sister, aNina Stage of Cumberland, Wis.; her much beloved “Callie,” her grandcats” and Piggy.  Also surviving are special friends, Emma Conrad, Nellie Thill, Donna Boelk and the Tony O’Malley family, all of Oakfield, and special “grandchildren” Dean and Julie Wild of Brownsville.

Her husband, two brothers, and four sisters preceded her in death.

Services:  Liturgy of the Word memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.  The Rev. James Posanski will officiate and inurnment will be at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum.  Cremation has taken place.

Visitation:  From 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.
