Obituary

E. J. DYER DIES AT 65 IN HOSPITAL.

Emmet J. Dyer, 65, Route 3, died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born May 28, 1905, in the Town of Eden, a son of John and Rose Flood Dyer.  He married Viola Wietor at St. Mary’s Church, Eden, on June 22, 1940.

Mr. Dyer was a member of St. John’s Church at Byron.  He farmed in the Byron area until 1959.

After retiring from farming, he was employed as a jailer at the Fond du Lac County Jail.  He was also a deputy sheriff.  He was a member of Wisconsin County Police, Sheriff and Police Radio Operators Association.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Patrick of Eden; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. John Dyer of Route 3; two brothers, Lloyd of Dundee and Leo of Campbellsport; and four sisters, Miss Mary Dyer of Byron, Mrs. Michael O’Reilly of Milwaukee, Mrs. Jay McDonald of South Byron and Mrs. Robert Brown of Eden.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Church at Byron.   The Rev. Richard Fechhelm will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
