Obituary

EUGENE ATTENBERGER

Eugene Attenberger, 85, of 209 Main St., Oakfield, died this morning at his home.

Born on July 14, 1890, at Mayville, he was a son of John and Adell Zimmerman Attenberger.  He married Clara Haller on Feb. 17, 1913, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, LeRoy.

The couple farmed in the Town of LeRoy, retiring three years ago and moving to Oakfield, Mr. Attenberger was a member of St. James Catholic Church at Oakfield.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Roman of Galistea, N.M.; a daughter, Mrs. Eldor Pfalzgraf of Oakfield; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Collien of Oakfield and Mrs. Lucille Susong of Corina, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kohls Co. Funeral Home, Oakfield, and at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, Oakfield.  The Rev. Richard Fechhelm will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, LeRoy.

Visitation for Mr. Attenberger will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
