Herman F. Koenigs Sr., 70, formerly of Lomira, died Thursday, May 25, 1989, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home. He was born April 30, 1919, in St. Peter, a son of Fredrick and Honora Mand Koenigs. In 1944, he married Angeline Hochrien in St. Cloud in 1951. She died in 1977. Mr. Koenigs served with the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1944. He farmed in the Marytown area until 1960, then was employed for 19 years as a milk hauler for Ries Trucking of Lomira.

Survivors include three daughters, Rita Baumhardt and her husband Terry, and Raye Ann Koenigs, all of Fond du Lac, and Ruth Ann Palmer and her husband Bill of Germany; seven sons, Thomas and his wife Phyllis of Fond du Lac, Bernard and his wife Christine of St. Cloud, James and his wife Doris, John and his wife Susan, all of Lomira, Herman Jr. and his wife Sandy, Alan and his wife Christine, all of Theresa, and Jeffery and his wife Donna of West Bend. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; three brothers, Francis and his wife Elaine of Milwaukee, Michael and his wife Tillie of St. Cloud, and Joseph and his wife Viola of Fond du Lac; and one sister, Mary Chapin and her husband Delbert of Fond du Lac. In addition to both his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Fredrick.

Vsitation is Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kietzer Funeral Home in Lomira. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira, with the Rev. Steve Stradinger officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
