Obituary
Hildegard K. Sterr, 84, of Lomira, formerly of Brownsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira with her family at her side.
She was born on August 28, 1927, in Velen, Westfalia, Germany, the daughter of the late Gerhard and Anna (Klumpjan) Kormann, and she came to the United States in 1951. On November 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to Roman "Romie" Sterr at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Le Roy. Romie preceded Hildegard in death on January 11, 2001.
Hildegard was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lomira, where she helped prepare funeral meals. She was an active volunteer and resident at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
Those Hildegard leaves behind to cherish her memory include five children, Louise (Edgar) Schwartz of West Bend, Kenneth (Barbara) Sterr of Iron Ridge, Gerianne (Leslie) Weyer of Brownsville, Gerd (Patricia) Sterr of Fond du Lac and Ann (Harold Jr.) Reuter of Lomira; a sister, Luise (Willi) Grave of Germany; a brother-in-law, Melvin Thelen of the town of Lomira; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Hildegard was preceded in death by a brother, Wilhelm Kormann and three sisters, Martha Kormann, Paula (Theo) Hamming and Gerda Thelen.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Hildegard was held on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lomira. Father Dennis Budka officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends called on Saturday at the church 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Hildegard's arrangements.
