Obituary

James George Wellnitz, ("Jim" to his friends and family) was 50, when he passed away at his house in Oakfield, on Sept. 8, 2011.

Jim was born in Fond du Lac on Feb. 9, 1961. He was the youngest son of five children born to Robert and Betty Wellnitz.

Jim enjoyed growing up on the family's dairy farm. He loved the outdoors. Swimming, snowmobiling and the art of classic cars, were particular favorites of his. Like his siblings, Jim was a student in the Oakfield Public School System, from elementary school through high school.

As an adult, he worked for many years as an employee of Canadian National Railroad.

Preceding him in death were his parental and maternal grandparents.

Jim is survived by his parents, Robert and Betty Wellnitz; his sister, MaryAnn, and brother-in-law Armond Pahnke; his sister, Leona, and brother-in-law Kim Havens; his brother, Robert Wellnitz Jr.; his brother, Michael, and his sister-in-law, Cindy Wellnitz.

VISITATION: A time of visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, at Sons of Zebedee-St. John's Catholic Church in Byron, Wis.

SERVICES: Immediately following the visitation, a Mass for immediate family and close friends will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Michael Petersen will serve as Mass celebrant.

Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.

The Uecker-Witt Funeral Home of Fond du Lac, Wis. is in charge of services and is assisting the family.
