JAMES R. ‘BOB’ HICKEN
James R. “Bob” Hicken, 74, of 528 Grove St., died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 10, 1928, in Fond du Lac, a son of James and Lolita Coulahan Hicken.
On Dec. 28, 1988, he married Connie Blake.
Mr. Hicken served in the U.S. Army. After being discharged, he went to work for the Chicago and North Western Railroad as a brakeman/conductor, retiring in 1988 after 45 years of service. He most recently operated J. R.’s Caboose Tavern in Fond du Lac.
He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; one son, Tim (Tammy) Hicken of North Fond du Lac and their two children, Tyler and Stephanie; a brother, Patrick (Margaret) Hicken of Fond du Lac; four stepchildren Sandy Southard of Portage, Wis., Joanne Hill of Beldenville, Wis., Jerrad (Debbie) Blake of Fond du Lac and Cynthia (James) Whetstone of Fond du Lac; and six grandchildren, including special grandchildren Cody Blake and Abigail Whetstone.
His parents; a son, James “Rooster” Hicken; a daughter, Lisa Hicken; and a sister, Joyce Parker preceded him in death.
Services: Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, the Rev. James Posanski will officiate, and burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Byron.
Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 203, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
