Obituary

JOHN TAGLIAPIETRA

Funeral services for John B. Tagliapietra, 80, of 726 Fourth St., Lomira, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. a St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.

Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.  The Rev. Stephen Stradinger will officiate.

Friends and relatives may call Monday evening from 5 to 8 at Kietzer Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 8 p.m.

He died Saturday, Jan. 19, 1991, at his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born Jan. 24, 1910, in Chicago, a son of Victor and Catherine Scudella Tagliapietra.

On Sept. 7, 1935, he married Clara Carrolla at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira and its Holy Name Society and a member of the Lomira Lions for 40 years.   He also served on the Lomira Village Board.  He worked in the cheese industry for 50years, retiring from Grande Cheese Company in 1971.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, John Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Brownsville, Robert and his wife Donna of Fond du Lac and Ronald and his wife Bonnie of Lomira; one daughter Sylvia Waas and her husband Myron of Lomira; three brothers, Victor and his wife Evie of Hudson, Fla., Bruno and his wife Lydia of Eden and George of Anaheim, Calif.; three sisters, Dora Brazzale of Lakeville, Conn., Thelma Reichling of Monrovia, Calif., Ida De Busman and her husband Ted of Naples, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Church.
