AREA FARMER DIES; LOMIRA CHURCH RITES
John F. Hesprich, 75, lifelong farmer at Lomira, died Wednesday at St. Agnes Hospital following a lingering illness.
Born Nov. 3, 1891, in Lomira, he was the son of Nicholas and Mary Bzler Hesprich. He married Isabelle Strobel June 27, 1917. Mr. Hesprich, who farmed all his life, was graduated from the University of Wisconsin Farm Short Course in 1915. He was a producer of hybrid corn, grain and Holstein cattle.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira, the Holy Name Society, Catholic Knights in which he served as an officer since the age of 18 and was the last member of the original Branch 230, committeeman for the farm tenancy board following the depression, and a member of the Wisconsin Experiment Association and the Dodge County, Wisconsin and National Holstein Fresian Associations.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Raymond of Mayville and Francis and Anthony of Lomira; six daughters, Mrs. Catherine Hemmerich, Menomonee Falls, Mrs. Joan Krofts, Mayville, Mrs. Rita Grusnick, Hawkins, Mrs. Dorothy Becker, and Mrs. Louise Held, both of Rubicon, and Mrs. Germaine Brenner, Kenosha; 66 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother, Eli Hesprich, Lomira; and two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Stehr of Lomira and Sister M. St. Paul of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by one son and two grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Rev. Mark Lyons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
