JOSEPH CHESNEY
Funeral services for Joseph H. Chesney, 61, of Route 2, owner and operator of Joe & Gert’s Bar, south on Highway 175, for the past five years, were held at 9:30 a.m. today at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church, Byron.
The Rev. Richard Fechhlem officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Chesney was born April 30, 1913, at Menomonee Falls, a son of Hubert and Elizabeth Theine Chesney. He married Gertrude Albinger on Nov. 9, 1946 at Holy Angel’s Church, West Bend.
He previously farmed and the last farm he operated was in the St. Kilian area. He was a member of St. John’s Church, Byron.
Surviving are his widow; five sons, Harvey, Joseph Jr., Norbert, Robert and James all at home; three daughters, Mrs. Steve Barnes of Rosendale, Mrs Catherine Rademann of Fond du Lac and Rosann at home; a grandson; his stepmother, Mrs. William Sennott of Oconomowoc; and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Kareuser of Route 3, Campbellsport, and Mrs Bernard Janick of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister.
