JOSEPH EGGERS
Joseph Eggers, 71, of Route 1, Brownsville, died early today at his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1900, in Fond du Lac, a son of Hubert and Emma Freund Eggers. He married Marie Hunke on Oct. 16, 1926. The couple resided on the present farm where Mrs. Eggers died in 1970.
Surviving are 11 daughters, Mrs. David Priepke, Mrs. Harold Schlefke and Mrs. Leo Clark all of Oakfield, Mrs. Tomas Wells of Milwaukee, Mrs. Earl Schaefer, Mrs Edward Moses and Mrs. Katherine Mielke all of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Donald Steger of Kewaskum, Mrs. James Hilbert of Mayville, Mrs. Alfred Ries of Theresa and Miss Gladys Eggers at home.
Also surviving are four sons, Joe of Oakfield, David of Horicon, James and Terrence both at home; 28 grandchildren; three brothers, George, Frank and Hubert all of Fond du Lac; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Brockway of Neshkoro.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Kohls Co. Funeral Home, Oakfield, and at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield, where Mr. Eggers was a member. The Rev. Richard Fechhelm will officiate and burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery at Byron.
