Funeral services for Joseph M. Gassner, 65, of Lomira, R. !, who died at his home Monday will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira, Rev. Leroy Dierbeck officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lomira.
He was born June 15, 1900, in Sauk County, the son of Frank and Catherine Gassner. He married Esther Scheberl Sept. 27, 1921, at St. Andrew’s Church, LeRoy. They had farmed in the Town of LeRoy and he was employed by the Western Lime Co., Nesbro.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Ermin, Lomira, R. 1, four daughters, Mrs. Ann Retzleff, Lomira, Mrs. Willard Krueger, Mayville, R. 1, and Mrs. Reno Battistine and Mrs. Arthur Hamberger, Fond du Lac; 20 grandchildren; three brothers, Markus, Knowles, Leo, LeRoy, Alois, Nesbro; and four sisters, Mrs. Alois Weyr and Mrs. Lawrence Weyr, Lomira, Mrs. August Feucht, Mayville, and Mrs. Fred Korth, West Bend. He was preceded in death by one daughter and two brothers.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Lomira.
