JOSEPH HEIMERL

Joseph Robert Heimerl, 86, formerly of Oakfield, died Thursday, March. 18, 1993, at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.

He was born June 24, 1906, in Mayville, a son of Joseph and Linda Bonack Heimerl.  On Sept. 24, 1927, he married Viola Steiner at St. John’s Catholic Church in Byron.

Mr. Heimerl and his wife resided in the Oakfield area all their married lives.  He was employed as a machinist at Tobin Tool & Die in Fond du Lac, and later was a superintendent at Romort Manufacturing Co. in Oakfield until his retirement.

Mr. Heimerl was a former member of St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield, the church’s Holy Name Society, Avoca Cemetery Board, Oakfield Recreation Association and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Denzin and her husband Erwin of Waupun, and Naomi Collien and her husband Darold of Oakfield; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and his wife Eunice, and Armond and his wife Eleanor, both of Fond du Lac; one sister, Bertha Gourlie of Mayville; two half-brothers, Roman Gittel and his wife Gerry, and Ruben Gittel and his wife Mary, both of Hartford; a half-sister, Doris Feutz of Hartford; and one sister-in-law, Marie Heimerl of Hartford.

Preceding him in death were his wife on Sept. 19, 1978, and a brother, Alex.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield.  The Rev. Don Zerkel will officiate.  Burial will be at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
