JOYCE M. PARKER

Joyce M. Parker, 75, of 355 Seymour St., died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1925, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of James and Lolita Coulahan Hicken.

On Aug. 18, 1951, she married James F. “Red” Parker at St. John’s Parish in Byron.  He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1994.

She was a member of Sons of Zebedee-St. John’s Parish and Daughters of Isabella.

Joyce graduated from high school in North Fond du Lac and attended Dodge County Normal and Oshkosh State College.

She taught at rural schools and at Lomira, Woodworth Junior High and later Sabish Junior High.  She was a member of Fond du Lac Retired  Teachers, a volunteer at Galloway House and a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie 270.

Survivors include two brothers, Patrick B. (Margaret) Hicken and James R. (Connie) Hicken, both of Fond du Lac; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Boehlert of Hayward, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband and her parents preceded her in death.

Services:  Funeral services will be held at 111 a.m. Monday, July 30, 1001, at Sons of Zebedee-St. John’s Parish in Byron, with the Rev. James Posanski officiating.  Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Visitation:  From 9 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.

Memorials are appreciated to Hospice Home of Hope or Sons of “Zebedee-St. John’s Church.  Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
