Obituary
Kathleen Elizabeth Kraft, née Frederick, 78, of Oakfield, entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 16, 2011, in Fond du Lac. Kathleen is survived by her husband, Ervin W. Kraft; and their children, Ervin L. Kraft, Charles D. and Mary H. Kraft, Sharon and Peter Schmeckel, Karon Kraft, and Fredrick V. Kraft. Kathleen was born on July 5, 1933, in Paris, WI, to Louis T. and Isabella M. Frederick. On September 1, 1952, Kathleen married Ervin W. Kraft at St. John's Catholic Church in Paris, WI, while he was serving in the United States Army. Ervin and Kathleen started out farming in Paris, WI, Kenosha County, and moved to Fond du Lac on March 1, 1962. They enjoyed raising their family on the farm. Kathleen was an active member of Sons of Zebedee Catholic Church in Byron. She was also a member of the Christian Mother's Society, and formerly volunteered with Loaves and Fishes, New Beginnings, and the Blood Bank. She was a CCD teacher for many years. Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading books, playing bingo, and watching old time movies.
Kathleen is survived by sisters: Ramona Michel, Carol Fliess, and Marietta Spear; her brother, Richard Frederick; three aunts; a son-in-law, Dan Kuen; eight grandchildren, including Ashley and Andrew Vande Zande; two step-grandchildren: Maurice and Andre Artiles; and special friends Helen Hoffman, Emily Franke, Eric Homuth, Toby and Ricki Artiles. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her teenage brother, Lawrence Frederick; her brother, James Frederick, on February 11, 2011; her sister, Estelle Howell; her daughter, Krisetta Kuen, on January 13, 2011, and her infant grandson, Timothy Kraft.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Sons of Zebedee Catholic Church, St. James, Oakfield. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Byron. The visitation will be at church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
The family of Kathleen would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Gary Steele, the ICU and 5th Floor Nursing Staff at Agnesian Healthcare as well as Agnesian Home Healthcare, Rev. John Schmitz, and her daughter-in-law, Mary H. Kraft, for the care they gave to Kathleen, and to all the individuals who called or visited Kathleen. She will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory would be appreciated to the Oakfield Lions Club, Oakfield Public Library, or New Beginnings of Fond du Lac.
