LEO SCHAEFER
Funeral services for Leo T. Schaefer, 86, of 25 N. Henniger St., Mayville, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mayville. He died Monday, Feb. 14, 1983, at St. Agnes Hospital.
The Rev. Charles Verhalen will officiate, and burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Lomira. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1896, at St. Lawrence, the son of the late Leopold and Mary Kraemer Schaefer. He married Anna Kuechler on June 5, 1923, at Allenton.
The couple farmed in the South Byron area, retiring in 1960.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Geraldine) Feucht Jr. of Route 1, Knowles, and Mrs. Curtis (Catherine) Rauch of Mayville; four sons, Erwin and Eugene both of Lomira, Charles of Cedarburg and Gerald of South Byron; 35 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Miss Theresa Schaefer of West Bend, Mrs. Ervin (Ann) Hahn of Hartford, Mrs. Stuart (Till) Hanrahan of Milwaukee and Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Heppe of Slinger. He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two sisters and three brothers.
