Leon A. Luedtke, 57, of 915 South Ave., Lomira, died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at his home, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1939, in Lomira, a son of Harvey and Dorthea Nebel Luedtke. On Nov. 10, 1962, he married Mae Belle Gassner at LeRoy.

Mr. Luedtke graduated from Lomira High School in 1957. He was employed at Maysteel Corp. in Mayville, and owned and operated Brownies Dugout in Brownsville for 10 years.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira and Brownsville Lions Club. Mr. Luedtke served in the U.S. Army from 1957- 1961.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Belle; two sons, Larry Luedtke and his wife Carla of Brownsville, and Michael Luedtke and his wife Kathy of Lomira; one daughter, Christine Luedtke of Lomira; his mother, Dorthea Luedtke of Lomira; his mother-in-law, Agnes Del Ponte of Lomira; two sisters, Donna Sterr and her husband Ron, and Denese Byington and her husband Casey, all of Tomahawk; one brother, Joel Luedtke and his wife Kathy of Lomira; four grandchildren, Kalee, Mitchell, Mathew and Michaela; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father; two sisters, Darlene and Diane; and one brother, Randy.

Services: Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira. The Rev. Donald Smith will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lomira.

Visitation: Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Koepsell Funeral Home of Mayville is serving the family.
