Leslie N. Jagdfeld, 97, a resident of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, and formerly of Oakfield, died Monday, July 2, 1990, at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born March 11, 1893, in the Town of Springvale, a son of Arnold and Christeena Lesselyoung Jagdfeld.  On Sept. 29, 1915, he married Lavina Conger in Chilton.

Mr. Jagdfeld attended schools in Rosendale.  He farmed with his uncles in the Brothertown area until his marriage.  He then farmed in Rosendale until 1930 when he and his wife moved to Oakfield.  He was employed with Better Farms, General Telephone, and Mammoth Springs Canning Company before retiring in 1985.  He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield, and the church’s Holy Name Society, the Oakfield Conservation Club and Oakfield Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two daughters, Thelma Ryan of Oakfield, and Verna Leigl of Green Lake; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife in 1959, one stepbrother and three stepsisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Oakfield.  The Rev. Guy Gurath and the Rev. George Gibbons will officiate.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac.

Friends may call Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Oakfield.
