LINDA J. COLLIEN

Linda J. Collien, 55, of N11937 West Line Road, Brownsville, died June 26, 2003, at her residence.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1947, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Junior and Margaret Hall Samp.

On Aug. 5, 19967k, she married her best friend, Donald Collien, at St. Mary’s Church in Fond du Lac.

Linda attended St. Mary’s Grade School in Fond du Lac and graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy in 19695.  For the next 14 years, she and her husband operated Don and Linda’s Tap in Brownsville.

After selling their tavern, they moved to their present location and in 1981, she began working for Ellison Electric, a job she held for 21 years and thoroughly enjoyed.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Lomira, and enjoyed crafts, painting, going to their cabin, sewing, gardening, shopping and aerobics.

Survivors include her husband, Don of Brownsville; her children, Jeffrey (Lisa) Collien of Waupun, Julie (Robert) Scharschmidt of Lomira and Jodi (Michael) Batzler of Waupun; three grandchildren, Sydney, Jaden and Allison; three step-grandchildren, Ashley, Brooke and Brennan; one step-great-grandchild, Kailely; one sister, Carol (Richard) Thompson of Brownsville; two brothers, Robert Samp of Fond du Lac and James (Mary) Samp of Fond du Lac; three sisters-in-law, Karen Schoepke, Jacqueline (Charles) Henke and Jill (Richard) Krudwig; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law preceded her in death.

Services:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2003, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira, with the Rev. Kevin Kowalske officiating.  Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.

Visitation:  From 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
