Lloyd J. Weninger, 78, of Brownsville, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at his place of residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born Oct. 24, 1928, in the town of Lomira, the son of the late John and Sophie Melzer Weninger.

On Nov. 30, 1956, he married Arline Hoffmann at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira, where he was a member.

He farmed his entire life in Brownsville.

Survivors include his wife, Arline of Brownsville; eight children, Rose (Ron) Metke of Brownsville, Kathryn (Gerald) Dalle Nogare of Oakfield, James (Lisa) of Buffalo, N.Y., Joseph (Bonnie) of Brownsville, Jerald (Holly) of West Bend, Lisa (Andy) Soboleski of Brownsville, Michael (Jill) of Westby and Linda (Bruce) Wittnebel of Mayville; 17 grandchildren, Rachel and Renae Metke, Abby, Madeline and Logan Weninger, Joshua and Benjamin Weninger, Haley and Sam Weninger, Jenna, Brittany, Frank and Luke Lloyd Soboleski and Dylan, Sarah, Allison and Jack Weninger; three step-grandchildren, Adam Onufrey, Brian Metke and Brooke Metke Frehse; three step-great-grandchildren: a brother-in-law, James Schmitt of Bettendorf, Iowa; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marian Schmitt; and one grandson, Derek Dalle Nogare.

Services:  Funeral services will be held at 3 pm. on Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira, with the Rev. John Schmitz officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation:  Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday, Jan. 8, 20007, at the church.

Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira, is serving the family.
